And the Winner is...

Finally after months of not so subtle hinting at an impending release Drake and his idiosyncratic branded October Firm have finally presented More Life to the world, amidst a fan fare and enthusiasm that only the 6 God can engender.  The 22 song playlist, was premiered on OVO Sound Radio on Saturday evening, pretty much sending the online community into a frenzy. The project was expected to be a an Apple Music exclusive however is now available to stream on other platforms including Spotify and Tidal.  Initial reception to the project has been overwhelmingly positive and in typical Drake fashion he has somewhat given us what is likely to be the soundtrack for the summer. The lead single "Fake Love" is a highlight along with the first and last tracks "Free Smoke" and "Do Not Disturb". A special mention also for "Can't have everything" which is a throwback to So Far Gone days. My personal review on first listening was damning to say ...

Get Out, or maybe Stay a while?

I primarily am someone who indulges more in music more than film. For the most part I probably attend the cinema once every calendar year. To further emphasise my lack of enthusiasm, the last film I went to watch at the the cinema was Dirty Grandpa. So You're probably right in assuming that a trip to my local movie theatre was long overdue. Luckily I was able to grab some FREE tickets to a preview screening of "Get Out" courtesy of Show Film First. The film was first brought to my attention by randomly coming across the trailer on YouTube, and then later that day during an episode of Joe Budden's I'll name This Podcast Later. They discussed all eagerly anticipating its release. I can usually rely on Joey, Rory and Mal for honest commentary in regards to most things, so I mildly entertained the idea of going to see it. Anybody that knows me can vouch not only am I not a Film guy, I am  also the guy who despises Action Thrillers and Horror flicks especial...

Range Rover Velar

Image
Land Rover put all car enthusiasts out of their misery by finally releasing images of their latest model the Range Rover Velar. These images come after months of eager speculation regarding the forth model in the range from Land Rover, and by early indications they may be onto a winner.  The Velar in keeping with Range Rover tradition is elegantly styled, but more than equipped for any off road excursions. The concept of this luxury mid-size SUV is to fill the gap that the manufacturers hope they have correctly identified that lies between the iconic Range Rover Sport and the popular Range Rover Evoque. I personally feel that the market place is more than ready for this type of crossover SUV as some drivers may not welcome the idea of the fully grown Sport, yet at the same time don't deem the Evoque big enough to give you the "Real Range Rover Experience". In regards to the marketplace obvious similarities have been drawn to The Jaguar F-Pace but that should...

The Eddie Hearn Circus

Saturday Night saw another tumultuous Matchroom Boxing Pay per View showdown between the much maligned David Haye and man of the people Tony Bellew. Those in attendance at the sold out O2 Arena witnessed a shock 11th round stoppage win for bookmaker underdog Bellew. Bellew in the fight build-up had repeatedly predicted that even with Haye's "superior" boxing abilities, the Bermondsey native lacked the heart and true courage required to come out victorious. Remarkably in a rare sign of bravery Haye valiantly fought on until his corner stopped the fight the 11th round, despite suffering a crippling Achilles injury in the 6th. What ensued following the conclusion to what was for me personally, a disappointing climax to a decent evening of boxing will live long in my memory, a memory that goes back to the late 1980's. May 21 1989, The Majestic Ballroom in London was the setting for the unbeaten Nigel Benn vs Michael Watson for the Commonwealth Middleweight ...

It’s a New Year, 2017 is finally upon us and for most of us a New Year means a multitude of things. For me personally I tend to look at things from a different perspective, depending upon reflection how productive the previous year was in correlation to my goals. 2016 on the whole was a very positive year for me I travelled, made strides career wise, but most importantly I SAVED MONEY. Before we get ahead of ourselves this isn’t going to be one of those post where I outline exactly how I went about it, but more focussing on a specific area. For those that know me can tell you about my obsession with Japanese Denim and Footwear! Over the years I’ve amassed a decent collection of Trainers. From an early age up sneakers were something that always interested me. I remember vividly trying on my first pair of Nike Air Max 90s in 1990, better still the fascination other people had wanting to press the basketball on my Reebok Pumps. I would sketch my favourite trainers and experiment ...

Finally For Lebron

Image
So the curtain has closed on another record breaking NBA season; Golden State eclipsed the ’96 Chicago Bulls 72-win season; Steph Curry was the first unanimous league MVP and last but by no means least the Cleveland Cavaliers have won their first NBA championship. Lebron James and his Cavs clinched the city’s 1 st major championship in any sport since the Cleveland Brown’s super bowl win in 1964, in a dramatic game 7 in Oakland last night. The eventual 93-89 win saw the Cavs overcome a 3-1 series deficit, winning 3 games on the bounce against a Warriors team that hadn’t previously lost a game back to back until the conference finals series against the Thunder, one in which they also came from 3-1 down. In triumph Lebron James scooped his 3 rd Finals MVP trophy after carrying his team for long stretches throughout the series. It was clearly an emotional conclusion for the Ohio native Lebron who since his return to his home town has seemed preordained to never clinch a title...
